As we welcome 2018, we can only hope for a better year filled with good stories and joyful experiences. And there is no better way to write on the empty pages of our year and record our memories, but with Scribe.
Formerly known as Scribe Writing Essentials, it is now re-introducing itself as simply, “Scribe”. Their new look was unveiled on Oct. 11, 2017 at their Glorietta 4 branch in Makati. Scribe’s founder and owner, Ms. Marian Ong explained, “We removed the "writing essentials" from the name because it was so limiting. Scribe is everything that will enhance the writing experience.” Though it started as a specialty store offering a wide range of products showcasing classic and premium quality pens such as “Pelikan”, “Sailor Japan”, “Platinum Japan”, “TWSBI”, “Kaweco”, “J. Herbin”, and “Noodler’s” among others, stationary, journals and notebooks, the new Scribe still offers writing instruments but is adding more accessories. It has recently introduced niche brands with a core following such as “Tools to Live By”, “Hightide”, “Penco”, and “Nahe”.
“The Eastwood and Shangri-la branches are formal so we wanted to target the younger generation by giving Scribe a younger look. We wanted it to look more inviting and to have a more welcoming ambiance.”, Ms. Ong added. It showcases modern and minimalistic interiors with better display and a bigger walkway for their clients to maximize their shopping experience. These changes are also in line with their objective to encourage the younger people, specifically the millennials, to start enjoying the art of writing, especially this new year.
